TODDLER OPEN GYM Do you have a toddler with a ton of energy and need to get out of the house for some socializing and a place to burn off that energy? The Upper Peninsula does not have many options for kids to run around and play indoors during the winter months, until now. Your toddler can now experience Forest Flyers Ninja Academy in an open gym, guardian supervised format. Your little one will be able to run, climb, swing, jump, and roll around our obstacles getting all the wiggles out while also training their vestibular system for better strength and coordination which is so important in their development. There is also a small fenced area for teenies with play activities. The details: 🟢 Open Gym is available 10:00am - 4:00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. There is a strict clearing the gym at 4:00pm to prep for classes at 5:00pm **We do have occasional field trips on Fridays, on those days there will be no open gym available. This will be communicated in advance. 🟢 Toddler Open Gym is open to kids aged 0-5 years old. 🟢 There will be a coach roaming the floor to help and ensure rules are being followed for safety. This is NOT a class format, so no formal instruction other than general helping will be provided. 🟢 Guardians are responsible for watching their child/children. 🟢 Registration is required to prevent overcrowding. PRESCHOOL NINJA CLASS Preschool age (3-5) is the perfect time to build balance, coordination, and a love for movement—with ninja! 💚 Our preschool classes offer a one-of-a-kind experience for kids ages 3–5. Designed for their age and ability, the curriculum focuses on developing fundamental skills like balance, body awareness, and coordination—while boosting confidence and encouraging teamwork along the way. 🌟 These coach-led classes maintain a strict 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio to ensure personalized instruction every session. Available preschool class times: 🟢 Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. 🟢 Thursday at 10:00 a.m. 🟢 Friday at 5:00 p.m. 🟢 Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Caregiver supervision is required. All students must have a signed waiver before participating and wear clean, dry shoes on the course. WHICH IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD? Both options have wonderful benefits for growing children. There are some key differences in the experiences, and you should also consider your child and how they may enjoy the different options. If your child is not yet 3, Toddler Open Gym is how they will get to experience ninja. If your child is between ages 3 and 5, consider the following: 🟢 Your availability to take them to the gym. Toddler Open Gym is available for unlimited day use within the day you have activated a pass for, and hours are 10am - 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Preschool Ninja Classes are weekly on Wednesday at 5pm, Thursdays at 10am, Fridays at 5pm, and Saturdays at 9am. 🟢 Your ability to be on the course with them. Toddler Open Gym requires guardian or caregiver supervision on the course. If your child is unable to reach an overhead obstacle, you’ll be on the course to give them a lift. If your child needs words of encouragement to traverse a balance obstacle, you’ll be cheering them on. 🟢 Your child’s attention span. Preschool Ninja Classes are 40 minutes long and instructor-led. Your child should be able to follow simple instructions to participate. Classes include a warm up, 3 separate mini-courses within our fully-equipped ninja course, and a cool down. 🟢 Your needs for your child. Are you looking to give them time and space to burn energy during our long winters (or any time, really 😅)? Toddler Open Gym is probably your best bet. If you are looking to introduce your child to a structured, fun, active format, then Preschool Ninja Classes may be a better fit. Ready to get started? Enroll your ninja in our half-day summer camps to stay active, hang out with friends, beat summer boredom, and, most importantly, have fun! Camps run throughout 10 weeks this summer—yes, even the last two weeks in August. Choose one week, multiple weeks, or select the days that work best for your ninja all summer long! Summer Ninja Camps run Monday through Friday, 1:00pm to 4:00pm, kicking off the week of June 23 and ending the week of August 25. Our camps are designed for ninjas ages 5-12. Your kiddo will enjoy: 🤸‍♂️ Warm-up and kickoff: Let the ninja fun begin 🤸‍♀️ Ninja course training: Master those obstacles like a pro 🤸‍♂️ Creative break: Rest your grip and recharge for more action 🤸‍♀️ Team challenges: Time to work together and level up Camp rates are $50 daily and $240 if you enroll for a full week. NEGAUNEE, Mich., March 21, 2025 - Forest Flyers Ninja Academy, the Upper Peninsula’s first Ninja Warrior-style obstacle gym, will officially open its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, March 24, at 10:30 AM at 400 US Route 41, Suite 106, Negaunee, Michigan 49866. The event will bring together the gym’s co-founders, local dignitaries, community leaders and fitness enthusiasts to celebrate the launch of this new facility. Forest Flyers Ninja is a fully equipped indoor ninja gym dedicated to inspiring children ages three to seventeen of all abilities, backgrounds, and mindsets to lead active and healthy lifestyles. The academy offers a fun, safe and challenging environment where kids can develop physical skills, build self-confidence and form friendships. In classes designed for preschool, elementary, teen, and homeschool groups, kids will swing, jump, roll, balance, and tackle obstacles such as warped walls, angled steps, and rings, all while building discipline and focus. Classes will be held once a week for 40 to 50 minutes, grouped by age, in designated zones tailored to different skill levels. Ninjas progress through a six-level curriculum, maintaining a maximum 10:1 student-to-instructor ratio.
